Making a Difference in Remarkable Time

Marsden students in Year 11 Religious Education have been working on their Remarkable Time projects this Term, where they select an issue they are passionate about and seek to make a difference. Yesterday the girls presented what they had been doing to the whole year group and here are a few examples:

Laura Jones, Rebecca Stewart and Grace Hagen (pictured above) collected and made stationery packs to give to a Primary School in Porirua.

I enjoyed Remarkable Time because it was fulfilling to be able to give back to the community and seeing the smiles on the kids faces.

Trinity Hunt painted a picture to give others a visible representation of pollution and its effects and bring awareness of how people can take action.

Tabea Ulrich and Michelle Gu connected with the elderly at Sprott House, particularly Marsden Old Girl, Joyce Harrison, visiting regularly and building relationships.

Remarkable Time has impacted us to think about how we can help the community in a practical way.

We have been impressed by the passion our students felt for the issues they chose and the varied ways they have worked to create something meaningful in their Remarkable Time. Well done girls!
