'Flying Kiwis' launch for Chinese Language Week
This week the New Zealand Chinese Language Week Trust celebrated the launch of its first book: "Flying Kiwis" at Marsden. Representatives from the Chinese Embassy, Asia New Zealand Foundation, Confucius Institute, parents and students were present.

They were treated to a wonderful display of Chinese fan dancing, modelling and readings from student authors, Petulia Cooper-Woodhouse, Y7, Tilly Dassanayake and Chloe Sim, both Y8, who contributed essays to this unique bi-lingual book. The brief 'What it is to be a Kiwi!' In total, work by 51 school students was selected for the book, and each essay was translated into Chinese.

It was a fabulous start to Chinese Language Week and our first week of Term 4. For more info on "Flying Kiwis" book, visit www.nzclw.com/events/Flying-Kiwis.html
