International students are welcome in Years 1-13 (ages 5-18 years)

Marsden School is a top ranked private girls' school offering Preschool, Primary and Secondary education.

A Marsden education taught me that education is not just a classroom, or homework, but that people light up people. Marsden's teachers lit me up. To light the way for others, you must shine the light yourself, and this is the best knowledge I got. Not only did I learn the best knowledge here, but Marsden education also made us a group, and we all got along happily and harmoniously, and made more friends.

Molly, Year 13 2022

At Samuel Marsden School your daughter will do well because we develop character as well as minds. We provide leading future-focused learning programmes that develop the essential academic, social and emotional skills young people need to thrive in the modern workplace.

We will look after your daughter in both her school and her personal life, she will feel safe here, cared for and welcomed. We take pride in our girls who have developed into strong, independent and service-minded individuals. They believe they have the power to change the world and they are out there doing that as successful international citizens. Enjoy watching this video below and getting to know us.

Our campus, in Wellington

Our Karori campus is situated in the quiet suburb of Karori, and is only 10 minutes from the heart of Wellington City, the capital of New Zealand.  Whether you arrive by air, sea, road or train, it's easy to get to Wellington. It is also easy to get around Wellington. The central city is compact so everything is within walking distance and there's an accessible and affordable public transport system. Wellington is a vibrant city with a stunning harbour and breathtaking natural beauty.

A supportive environment

Marsden welcomes international students who have some English Language skills. All students at Marsden learn in a supportive environment. Individual tutoring as well as support in academic subjects is provided.

Students who study at Marsden must live with a parent or legal guardian or with one of our supportive homestay families. Our Homestay Manager, Lisa Lee, arranges and monitors accommodation.

Dux speaks about Marsden (Chinese)

Celeste Pan, recipient of Marsden's highest academic honour in 2015 - School Dux is currently studying at Cambridge University in the UK. Before she went she recorded this video (in Chinese) about her time at Marsden. Celeste joined us in 2014 and says that "the school cares about international students". She liked that there were a lot of subjects to choose from, that classes were small and communication with teachers was easy. She made a lot of friends and very quickly improved her English, she also credits her acceptance into Cambridge to the two years she spent at Marsden.

Children and young people flourish at Marsden. They're happy, they enjoy school and they go on to do exceptionally well in life.
