Samuel Marsden Collegiate School is a charitable trust.

Our Board sets fees at the lowest possible level to cover costs without eroding the high standards of tuition and facilities for which Marsden has become known. The Board reserves the right to vary fees at its discretion. All fees are stated in New Zealand dollars and are inclusive of Goods and Services Tax of 15%.

  • Preschool tuition fee is based on the assumption that parents have opted to take up the Government 20 hours free ECE subsidy.
  • The school levy includes funding for our buildings, IT, sport, and fixed costs. Lifelong membership of the Marsden Old Girls’ Association will be conferred on all Year 1-13 students from their date of enrolment, for a one-off fee of $350.
  • The Year 13 levy instalments cover the costs of compulsory events for students in Year 13. This includes: leadership camp, special breakfasts and lunches and excludes the Ball levy, which covers four tickets to the Leavers’ Ball at a cost of $250 each plus GST. Should the cost of ball tickets be less than budgeted, parents will receive a refund.

Additional Costs

Additional costs are charged for incidental items such as class trips, photographs, Marsden Yearbook (Te Kura), sports activities, outdoor education and specialist subject costs.

Marsden Foundation Donation

To further support the Marsden Foundation in achieving its philanthropic goals, you will note the inclusion of a Foundation donation of $150 per family per annum in your first fees invoice of 2025. This donation applies to all families with a student attending during the academic year and is not pro rated or refunded for partial year attendance. Families may apply for a tax credit on this donation.

Sibling Discounts – Years 1-13 only

A 20% discount on tuition fees is available to families for the third and youngest child when all are current students at Marsden (excluding Preschool and International students).

For further details please contact our Chief Operating Officer, Hilary Fiennes.

Referral Scheme

We recognise and humbly acknowledge that members of the Marsden community are our greatest ambassadors. Research has shown that the predominant reason influencing the decision families make to send their daughters to Marsden is the recommendation of parents of students, past and present, and alumnae of the school. In gratitude for this, the Board is pleased to announce the continuation of our referral scheme in 2025 and will provide a $500 fee reduction on the fourth term's fees in 2026 for Marsden families who refer other families from their networks to attend Marsden in 2025 or 2026. Families joining Marsden as a result of a referral from a current Marsden family will receive uniform vouchers to the value of $500.
