Year 6 Teacher
Lynette Kitney joined Marsden at the beginning of 2025, bringing with her over 25 years of experience in primary education. She has taught students from Year 1 through to Year 8 across both state and independent schools in New Zealand and overseas, including time at Bradbury School in Hong Kong where she delivered the International Baccalaureate curriculum. Lynette is passionate about creating a learning environment that supports the whole child—academically, socially and emotionally.
She holds a strong interest in literacy education, and has completed a Certificate in Teaching ESL Students in the Mainstream Classroom. She is currently working towards her Intervention Teaching Certification, accredited by the International Dyslexia Association.
Outside the classroom, Lynette leads an active lifestyle—running, skiing, swimming (ideally from a tropical island!), and going to the gym. She is also a talented singer and a proud member of a competitive barbershop chorus, having performed at both national and international levels.
Her creativity and eye for design extend to home life too, where she enjoys planning and executing house renovations. At Marsden, Lynette brings energy, empathy, and a passion for both learning and teaching that makes a lasting impact on her students.
