Head of Science
Jane Jackson leads Marsden’s Science Department with a passion for inspiring curiosity and discovery. With a background in microbiology, she quickly realised she preferred working with people rather than petri dishes, leading her to a fulfilling career in teaching.
Before joining Marsden, Jane taught at Onslow College and spent five years working in London, including a role at the Bank of Japan. Her early 20s saw her living in Japan for 18 months, teaching English and immersing herself in a different culture.
Jane loves bringing science to life in the classroom, especially through the lens of a microscope—she even has one at home! Outside of school, she enjoys gardening, planning her next travel adventure (Vietnam is next on the list!), and spending time with her family. Her daughter is a current Marsden student, while her eldest is in her second year at university and also attended Marsden. With a strong family connection to the school, including her mother-in-law’s past role as Deputy Principal, Jane is proud to be part of the Marsden community.
