Marsden Old Girl wins Adam NZ Play Award for the second time
Marsden Old Girl Maraea Rakuraku has won the Adam NZ Play Award for her play '0204161007', judges described it as "vibrant, compelling and deliciously funny". She also won awards for Best Play by a Woman Playwright and Best Play by a Māori Writer. The Adam NZ Play Award recognises and celebrates the best in new unproduced writing for the theatre. This is the second time Maraea has received the supreme award, she previously won with her play Tan-Knee in 2016.
Maraea was inducted into the Marsden Hall of Fame in 2019 and we are delighted that her outstanding talent as a playwright and storyteller continues to be recognised.
